Why and how you should create a Facebook Fan page

Marketing

Facebook is not only a platform to express yourself, connect with friends and networks. It’s also another avenue for your business to connect, network and promote your brand. Facebook’s press page claims more than 400 million active users in any given day, making it the perfect opportunity to promote your brand and interact with your customers. Creating a Fan Page allows users to become a Fan of your business and with more than 20 million people becoming fans of Pages every day there is no reason not to give it try.

A Fan Page behaves very much like a user profile in which there is a wall for you and your fans to write on, to add photos and videos. The most powerful aspect of creating a Facebook Fan Page is interacting with your customers and creating a personal and long lasting relationship. Creating a Fan Page also allow you to view insights such as the demographics of your fans, number of interactions and visits to your page - all which help to evaluate and assess your brand and marketing strategy.

In order to create a Facebook Fan Page you will need a Facebook account and then visit the advertise page. From there you can create a page, pick a category, name and much more.

We asked the guys from Lens Pimp who have a Facebook Fan page to tell us what they get out of it and what they use it for.

Over to Adham:

Facebook is one of the few social networking sites along with Twitter that we use as our main viral marketing campaign to promote our service and keep in touch with our customers.

We find this an excellent way of marketing especially as a new start up business. We knew before we launched our website that this was going to be an effective way of spreading the word while updating customers with latest offers. We keep our customers informed of new products, stock updates and use it as a helpful medium that allows new customers to approach us. Lastly, Facebook allows us to provide personal support and advice to our followers, as well as answering any queries they may have.

Why not become a fan?
